There is not much to like about the hotel or the service & facility.
One of the resturant service staff was very unpleasent & rude in her service the first day breakfast. The subsequent days we were served by a different staff who were nice and pleasent.
The hotel was conveniently located near tourist sights, reataurants and walk/jogging on the canal.
The carpet in the room needed cleaning/replacing .
Handy to many sites in the city.
A small thing, the toliet in my room 1010 ran for a long time after being flushed.
The hotel staff could not be more friendly!
The hotel should offer courtesy breakfast.
room, staff, clean and location
Convenient downtown location, moderate price
Bathtub was defunct, stopper broken. There was no provision for living out of your suitcase, not table, no gadget, just the floor. The breakfast restaurant was freezing cold every morning on account of nobody monitoring the air conditioning. The hassle over what was or was not chargeable on the breakfast menu was an unpleasant beginning of the day. Why not simply have a set menu for people staying at the hotel and another one for who don't?
It was a clean, friendly hotel, close to the downtown Everyone was friendly and helpful
Location was quite good: near a street with many restaurants and within walking distance of Parliament Hill. Internet is included in price. Parking below the hotel.
I could hear the lift from my room (505). No very loud, but still disturbing since it's operating 20/24. No buffet at breakfast. Wifi was slow.
It was close to bike paths and the Rideau Canal.Hotel was super clean and staff always friendly. Had a great time.
The staff were friendly, and the hotel restaurant breakfast that was included was excellent quality.
The parking system is useless. We were given a parking pass and when we tried to park, there was no room (three cars were parked illegally). When I mentioned this to the staff I was told that parking was difficult and that my parking pass would be refunded. That is not the point. A 4:00PM check-in time is very inconvenient. The king size bed was uncomfortable, and the shower head was not seated into the wall securely.
My mother and I stay at this hotel yearly, as my daughter is a member of the Ceremonial Guard, and performs in Fortissimo. We find it to be in an ideal location, as it is a short walk to Parliament Hill, and as my mother is 82, she is able to make the walk fairly easily. This hotel is located in what seems to be a very nice neighbourhood, making me feel safe to be walking at night with an elderly person.
The only thing I can say, or recommed is that this hotel should be able to regulate the weather, as this year we encounted a thunder storm just prior to Fortissimo, so if you can arrange for perfect weather, that would be greatly appreciated! ;-)
nice, clean and big room
parking was not for free, service at breakfast was not kind
Nice hotel, reasonably priced, best location in Ottawa for walkers and cyclists
Landscaped grounds were in poor shape, shrubs were losing their leafs because of lack of watering.
Convenient to Uottawa Healthy tasty room service food Friendly polite staff
bed saggy soft
